Jackson Dalton Appointed Commissioner to the State of California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development

In 2020, Jackson Dalton, President and Owner of Black Box Safety, inc. was appointed by the board of the Office of Statewide Health Planning Department (OSHPD) to serve on behalf of the California Supplier Diversity Commission. As a  commissioner, Jackson is a representative of all Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE) within the state healthcare system.

The goal of the State of California Hospital Supplier Diversity Commission is to inform the OSHPD director and the hospital industry with best ways to increase acquisition with diverse suppliers. The commission also provides outreach efforts for hospitals that are actively engaged in supplier diversity matters.

Overview of OSHPD

The main objective of the OSHPD is to develop a Hospital Supplier Diversity program that will establish supplier diversity reports explaining the hospital’s supplier diversity goals regarding certified minority, women, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT), and disabled veteran business enterprises.

Hospitals are specifically situated to create and maintain relations within the communities they benefit through involvement with minority-owned businesses such as women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises. Through the Hospital Supplier Diversity program, the OSHPD can expand opportunities for diverse communities.
